An academic wiki?[]

I was thinking a wiki where people can post academic papers (critical examinations, ethnomedologies, original research or anything else) and get corrections or feedback would be very useful. Perhaps papers could pass through a peer review system (ala Wikinews). I was thinking of it more along the lines of philosophy and human sciences, but I don't know it would need to stop there. What do people think? Sarge Baldy 21:04, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

It is worth a try. There has been some discussion of the theory of wiki academic publishing at Meatball wiki. I have been wondering if it would be best to have an academic publishing node wiki (see Node-wiki for university-wikis) that could support the distributed wiki publishing efforts of specialized academic topic wikis like the anthropology wiki and the proposed language wiki (see above). --JWSchmidt 00:22, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
This now exists here for anyone interested in the project. Sarge Baldy 09:11, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Development of the Academinc Publishing Wikicity[]

The first wiki journal that was constructed was the Wiki Journal.

Based on the resources developed for the Wiki Journal, a Template Journal project was initiated in order to make an easy way to start new peer-reviewed wiki journals.

The first new journal made from the Template Journal was the Language Journal.

An article was submitted for peer review at 18:26, 13 Jul 2005. A copy of the same article was made and left as an example of a preliminary draft.
