This is the main page for the Law and Policy Advances. The journal's title carries multiple meanings relevant to its purposes. As a categorical statement of fact, "law and policy advances" is optimistic beyond the point of naïveté. It is, however, sometimes true. Law and Policy Advances aims to make it more true by providing critical insights into areas of law and policy in need of advancement. The title is thus aspirational.

Further, Law and Policy Advances, though a scholarly journal in its own right, is also a platform for advance publication of works intended later to be published elsewhere. The wiki format is ideal for advance publication of working drafts. Authors are empowered to stake early claims to intellectual terrain they have newly charted and to share the bounty of that terrain even as it is further cultivated. Published drafts remain malleable, and the wiki format is wonderfully conducive to collaboration. With free global distribution and negligible barriers to participation, collaboration is unconstrained by the limits of personal association, academic disciplines and geography, and is relatively lightly constrained by the busyness of would-be collaborators. The wiki format is superior to that of traditional, typeset academic journals by virtue of: (1) its transparent peer-review process and (2) the ability to maintain living articles.

Please note:

If you are interested in republication of your article elsewhere, see the Instructions for Authors for information on the permissive copyright license applicable to this journal, which is intended to assure authors full credit and recognition for their work while enabling wide distribution, including through republication.

Any odd prose on this page or other any other introductory page to the journal is not the work of Law and Policy Advances' editors but rather part of a template over which they have little control.
